General Chemical Corp. offers a complete line of products formulated for aluminum processing. Our Aluminum cleaners & Aluminum lubricants products have found worldwide acceptance for use in machining, stamping, drawing, cleaning and extruding aluminum. The Aluminum lubricants/ machining fluids are emulsifiable oil concentrates which provides exceptional boundary, polar, and extreme pressure lubricity. They have a unique biocide package which results in long sump life and odor free operation.

Our Aluminum lubricants for stamping and drawing are used for light and heavy duty forming operations. Because of its superior lubricity parts are produced with excellent surface finish and accurate dimensional stability.

The products discussed below will meet the requirement of most aluminum processing; however, specially formulated products are available.

ALUMINUM CLEANERS

Our knowledge of appropriate chemistries and proper Aluminum cleaner recommendations insure proper Aluminum cleaner selection. Twenty three years of experience in the Aluminum cleaning is an important part of General Chemical’s heritage. From Aluminum cleaning by spray, soak tank and ultrasonic, Aluminum cleaners will help improve productivity and efficiency in any cleaning operation. The aluminum cleaning products supplied by General Chemical Corp. are inhibited from attacking aluminum. They are used at low temperatures, are free rinsing and are used at low concentrations. Non emulsifying cleaners allow oil to be skimmed from the cleaner, this results in long cleaner use life, easier waste treatment and reduced costs.

General Chemical has specialized in formulating vanishing lubricants. These products are used were minimal lubricity and no residual films are required. Are products are used on thin gauge ferrous and non ferrous metals. Typical applications for vanishing lubricants include blanking, drawing, roll forming and fin forming in radiator manufacturing.

ALUMINUM ALLOY ETCHANTS AND ALUMINUM CLEANERS

ALUMINEX 602: A low ph spray cleaner and corrosion inhibitor. Used on ferrous and non ferrous metals. The ph of the concentrate is 8. to 89. Used at 3 to 5% concentration. Free rinsing. non etching, low temperature.

ALUMINEX 5761: Used at 5 to 10% concentration at 100 degree to 120 degree farenheit.. . Recommended for cleaning aluminum radiator parts. non etching. Free rinsing.

ALUMINEX 5834: A Heavy-duty soak or spray cleaner non-emulsifying. Free rinsing. Can be used on ferrous and non ferrous metals. Concentration 5% to 10% at 120 degree to 200 degree Fahrenheit. Does not contain phosphate. Free rinsing.

ALUMINEX 7737: A non-emulsifying heavy duty soak tank cleaner. Contains silicate. Phosphate free. Non corrosive. To ferrous and non ferrous metals. non etching, free rinsing. Concentrations 5 % to 10 % at temperatures of 120 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

ALUMINEX 3820: An acid based cleaner to remove hard water deposits from aluminum radiators and heat exchangers. Used at 5 % concentration at ambient temperature.

ETCHANTS:

Alumter 2680:A non Hydrofluoric acid etchant, deoxidizer and cleaner. Safe to use. Non emulsifying, produces a very uniform etch. Used in soak tank or spray applications. Non emulsifying. Free rinsing. Used at 10% to 20% at ambient to 120 degree Fahrenheit. Non hazardous.
